The Eudora Youth Football and Cheer Association (EYFCA) teams wrapped up their home games for 2012 with a great turnout on Sunday October 14 at the high school district stadium.

The atmosphere created by the local youth football organization (EYFCA) was top notch.  The event was highlighted by a public announcer, music, concessions and a great crowd. The generosity of the high school and local vendors could be seen all around the stadium and were key contributors to the fun atmosphere for all.

The Eudora youth teams performed well, battling area teams from Tonganoxie, Basehor and Bonner Springs.  The flag team had a special accomplishment, finding its sixth win of the season, maintaining their undefeated status. The second grade team found a nice win, battling to the end in a tough contest against Basehor. The fourth grade team fought hard, battling stiff competition from Tonganoxie, showcasing their kickoff return game with a long touchdown run.  The sixth grade team demonstrated great enthusiasm, having success passing the ball against Bonner Springs.  The third grade team had the day off but is in the midst of a strong season, challenging for a top spot in the upcoming tournament.

“It has been a real pleasure witnessing first-hand what teamwork can accomplish both on and off the field,” EYFCA President, Bret Stouder.  “Not only did we see our youth athletes grow together as the season continued, but we also saw the fruits of the labor from many coaches, board members and volunteers.  Thank you all for your contributions in making this season a huge success for our community“.

The team now sets its sights to the post season with multiple teams in good position to make a deep run in the KVL post season tournament.  You can learn more about EYFCA program by visiting their website at

One Response to Youth Football holds games at Eudora District Stadium

  • Very well written article. As someone who helped coach the second grade team and who is fairly new to the area, I really enjoyed watching the kids improve week after week. I also felt very welcomed by the parents and the rest of the coaching staff. Witnessing all of their hard work pay off with a hard fought victory the last game of the season, made it all worth while. I’m really looking forward to working with the kids and coaching staff in the years to come.
