The National Weather Service has modified the Winter Storm Watch posted for this weekend.  The Storm Watch is now in effect from Noon Saturday to Noon Sunday.

Snow is expected to start sometime Saturday afternoon or evening with the heaviest snowfall occurring Saturday night.  Forecasters expect the snow to taper off by Noon Sunday.  Accumulations have also be revised to the 3 – 7 inch range, though locally heavier amounts are still possible.  High winds also will accompany this storm with gusts to near 30 m.p.h. through the day on Sunday.

Once the storm does hit, travel conditions are likely to become very difficult with snow packed and slick roads.  The strong winds will cause reduced visibility and drifting snow.

We will continue to follow this winter (isn’t it Spring???) storm as it moves through east central Kansas.
