The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Tornado Watch effective until 8:00 PM Thursday evening for the Eudora area.
Counties included in the watch are: Anderson, Brown, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Lyon, Osage and Shawnee.
A watch means that conditions are conducive to severe thunderstorms that can produce tornadoes but no current activity has been sighted. These storms can produce gusty winds and large hail as well.
At 1:00 PM, a thunderstorm line containing some cells of strong to severe weather were located southwest of Eudora near Baldwin City and stretched southward to Burlington and moving to the northeast quickly.
