This Week in Eudora History, will take a look back at some of the people, places and events, that shaped the history of this fine community. We will look at “the week that was” from times past.

 

For the dates of January 25 to January 31:

January 31, 1990, 25 years ago

Eudora High will be hosting a chili supper in the cafeteria at 5p.m. This is happening before the boys’ basketball game against St. Mary’s and everyone is invited to eat homemade meals then go support the team.

January 30, 1953, 62 years ago

Mr. Texas starring Cindy Walker will be shown at the Eudora theatre Friday evening. This is said to be the first Christian Western and has been shown by churches around the nation earning excellent reviews. Go see the show free of charge but donations accepted.

January 29, 1931, 84 years ago

On Tuesday evening one of our own Ralph Greiner was severely cut on his neck. Dr. Johnson dressed and stitched the wound making Ralph able to return home the following Wednesday evening. The cut happened because Ralph tripped on a wire falling hard on a fast moving wood saw.
