For the dates of February 2 – February 8:

February 4, 1999, 15 years ago

Eudora firefighters were battling a fire at Eudora Riverview Golf Course early Friday morning. Crews were called to the golf course north of Eudora, when a driver passing by called in the fire. Sheriff’s reports listed the loss at $182,000.


February 8, 1979, 35 years ago

The Eudora High School girl’s varsity basketball team beat Piper last week, giving Eudora a 50-33 semi-final tournament win.


February 4, 1926, 88 years ago

Miss Molvia Pilla, who is suffering from an attack of intestinal flu was taken to St. Lukes’s Hospital in Kansas City last Thursday morning.

    Eudora Riverview Golf course was in Eudora Township district.

    • Unfortunately, most of the archives this comes from are physical printed papers and film/microfiche. Much of the stories are not in the online archives of the Lawrence Journal-World, owner of the town’s previous newspaper, The Eudora News.
