This Week in Eudora History, will take a look back at some of the people, places and events, that shaped the history of this fine community. We will look at “the week that was” from times past.

For the dates of August 10 to August 16:

August 16, 1934, 80 years ago

The Eudora “Wimpy Club” met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lothholz for their regular meeting. All twelve members were present.

 

August 14, 1974, 40 years ago

Thirty-eight Eudora 4-H Club members had 161 entries in the Douglas County Fair. Eudora 4-H’ers ended up with 16 top blue awards and seven award recognitions.

 

August 10, 1994, 20 years ago

Eric Votaw of Eudora competed in the Sunflower Games and captured a gold medal in the high jump with a jump of 6 feet. Votaw also took third in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet 4 inches.
