Okay, I thought we were past this already for the year…..

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for most of state of Kansas with the exception of three counties in the extreme southwest corner of the state.

While the posted watch does not give an exact accumulation measurement, the Weather Service  says the potential exists for moderate to heavy snows starting Wednesday evening and lasting until late Thursday afternoon.  Some light ice accumulations are also possible with this storm.

Travel is expected to be difficult.  Ice and snow accumulations on power lines may possibly cause some power outages.

The Weather Channel, who has apparently bought naming rights to storms now, is predicting “Winter Storm Q” will bring somewhere in the area of 6 inches of snow to our area.  We will keep you posted on road conditions and any possible closures that may occur with this storm as the storm develops.
