The 2011 Lady Cards opened their season defeating Baldwin in 3 sets (24-26; 25-17; 25-20). The team had multiple changes to the line up do to injuries but they were quick to find their groove in sets 2 and 3 to pick up the win. Madison Maring led the Cardinals in Kills with 12; followed by Allie Webb with 6.  Katelyn Abel was rushed into setting role finished with 19 set assists; Annie Beck and Maring led team
with 15 digs each.

In the 2nd Match of the evening the Lady Cards continued their winning ways defeating Bonner Springs in straight sets (25-17; 25-21). The Cardinals had no problems handling the over-matched Braves jumping out to a big lead in set 1 and making several strong runs in set 2 to get the win. Maring once again led in Kills with 6 and Webb with 4. Annie Beck and Katelyn Abel led the team with 7 and 6 digs,
respectively.

In the final match of the evening the Lady Cardinals never found their rhythm as they fell to Basehor-Linwood in straight sets (21-25; 20-25). Allie Webb dominated the front line with 9 Kills to lead the team, and Annie Beck had strong back row play recording 19 Digs.

The JV volleyball team opened their season as well finishing 1-2 on the evening.

The both volleyball teams will return to action next Tuesday evening, September 6th at home against the Ottawa Lady Cyclones.

The Eudora Parks and Recreation Center is sponsoring a Winter Co-Ed Volleyball League.

Matches will be played on Sunday afternoons and begin December 5. Deadline for entering the league is November 24.

The ParKs and Rec is also sponsoring youth and men’s Basketball Leagues. Deadlines have already passed, but there is a late entry possibility.
