A local Eudora resident was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after a three vehicle accident on K-10.

Joanne Kite, 49, of Eudora was driving westbound on K-10 near Desoto around 3:45PM,  when a truck driving eastbound had it’s trailer come unhitched. The trailer, according to Kansas Highway Patrol reports, crossed the median and struck a truck driven by Barry Clemens, 44, of Raytown, MO.  Kite then ran into the vehicle driven by Clemens.

Kites injuries were described as minor. Clemens was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with disabling injuries. Kite was reported to have been wearing her seat belt and Clemens was not.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of K-10 for several hours as crews worked to clean up the scene.
