Severe Thunderstorm Watch

Just as was the case Wednesday night, the Eudora area is again under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10:00 PM Thursday night.

Counties included into tonight’s watch are: Douglas, Coffey, Geary, Lyon, Morris, Osage, Shawnee and Wabunsee.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are right for Strong to Severe storms to develop.

As of 6:15 PM Radar only indicated a line of strong storms out near Hutchison Kansas moving in an Easterly direction.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until Midnight Wednesday for Douglas County along with Anderson, Coffey, Franklin, Geary, Lyon, Morris, Osage, Shawnee and Wabunsee Counties.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of strong to severe storms.

At 7:20 PM, two small but strong lines of storms had developed from I-70 south of Manhattan and stretched down to near Yates Center, KS. These lines of storms are moving to the East-Northeast.  There is no estimate of when or even if, these storms may move into the Eudora area.
