Eudora has been ranked as one of the top ten cities in Kansas for young families according to  The website, which focuses on consumer news and information, ranked Eudora seventh in the state.  Rankings were based upon three main criteria: quality of the public schools, affordability and growth.

In the article by San Francisco writer Mike Anderson, he stated how the short drive to Lawrence, the average commute for citizens being 23 minutes and the Parks & Rec Department factored into Eudora making the list.

“In this small city of 6,300 people, residents can enjoy six parks, a community center gymnasium, an aquatic center and sports and athletic programs,” Anderson wrote.

Several nearby cities were also honored with the distinction of being in the top 10.  Spring Hill, Gardner, De Soto, Overland Park and Leawood made the list.   The top of the class was the city of Andover located near Wichita.  Rounding out the list was Hays, Mulvane and Abilene.
