3/28/13 Update: 

We just received word from the Parks and Rec Department that due to expected thunderstorms on Saturday, the Easter Egg hunt has been moved from the West Sports Complex Baseball Field to the Eudora Rec Center Gymnasium.  The hunt still begins at 3:00 PM and the Easter Bunny will still be there, it’s just now an indoor event.  The gymnasium is located at 1630 Elm Street in Eudora.

As we approach the Easter weekend several events are going on around town.

The Eudora Lions Club will be hosting their annual Pancake Feed on Saturday morning from 7:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Eudora Rec Center 1630 Elm Street in Eudora.  This is one of the major fundraising events for the organization.  The cost is $5 for adults, Children (4-12) is $3 and kids 3 and under eat free.

Saturday afternoon, the Eudora Parks and Rec Department will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt.   The hunt will be at the West Sports Complex Baseball Field located at 12th Street and Winchester Road in Eudora.  The hunt begins at 3:00 PM.  The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance during the hunt and kids will get their chance to have their picture taken with him…or is it her??? Don’t be late!

The Eudora Lions Club is sponsoring their 2nd annual Turkey Trot this Saturday.  The 5K run/walk will benefit the Eudora Lions Club Christmas Angel Tree project.  The project helps those in need during the holiday season with both food for families and gifts for the kids.

The Turkey Trot will get underway at 9:00 AM at the Eudora Rec Center, 1630 Elm Street. You can check in at the Rec Cemter starting at 8:00AM.

The registration fee is $25 and you can register online at eudoralionsclub.webs.com or call Audrey Bell at 785-230-2185.

Kids, strollers, bikes and pets on a leash are all welcome.

The Eudora Lions Club is sponsoring their annual Easter Bunny Pancake Feed on Saturday April, 7 from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Eudora Recreation Center, 1630 Elm Street.

The menu will include all you can eat Buttermilk or Apple/Cinnamon pancakes, sausage and drinks.

In addition to food, children will be able to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and a silent auction will also be held.

The cost for the pancake feed is $5.00 for adults, children 4 – 12 years old $3.00 and children 3 and under eat free.  All proceeds from the meal and the silent auction will benefit the Eudora Lions club projects.

After breakfast, the Easter bunny will get to work and hide eggs for the for the annual Easter Egg Hunt which will take place at the West Sports Complex.  The Easter Egg hunt will begin at 3:00PM the same afternoon. Boys and girls Preschool through the 4th Grade are encouraged to bring their Easter baskets and look for the little nuggets hidden by the Easter bunny.

The Eudora Lions Club is sponsoring a Community Blood Drive on Thursday, January 26th, at Eudora High School Commons area from 2:30 – 6:00pm.

Currently there is a shortage of certain types of blood.  Community Blood Center needs over 500 pints of blood daily to service Hospitals in Kansas and Missouri. The hospitals and patients depend on donors.

You may be a walk-in Donor at any time or you may schedule an appointed time by calling Lion Bob Slapar at 542-2315.
