When the Kansas City Royals take the field on Sunday, April 15, there will be a special visitor in a special seat to cheer them on. Audio-Reader Director Janet Campbell will be in the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat.

Buck O’Neil was a legendary player, coach, scout and supporter of the Royals and ambassador for the game of baseball. The Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat honors that spirit among Royals fans who show the same enthusiasm and dedication to their communities.

During her 33 years with Audio-Reader and 22 years at the helm, Campbell has taken the organization to a 24-hour, 7-day service operating on nine broadcast outlets across Kansas and western Missouri; increased A-R’s donor base, community partnerships, involvement in national radio-reading organizations; and kept a steady hand on the tiller through three KU Chancellors, two recessions and countless appeals for private funding.

Campbell is also Director of Kansas Public Radio, the NPR news, classical music and jazz station based at KU.

“I’m surprised and deeply honored by this,” Campbell said. “Audio-Reader means so much to the people who have lost their sight that it’s an honor to work there.”

Offered as a free public service by the University of Kansas, Audio-Reader is a reading and information service for blind and print-disabled individuals throughout Kansas and western Missouri. Audio-Reader offers print-disabled persons the opportunity for greater personal independence by providing access to the printed word.

Eudora reporter is proud to welcome Kansas Public Radio to the advertising family.  KANU-FM and Kansas Public Radio serves the Lawrence and East Central Kansas area with original and creative programming.

Through the resources of their news department and National Public Radio, they have become one of the leading services in the state.  KANU-FM has served the Lawrence area for almost 60 years. They were the first non-commercial station to broadcast in Stereo in the 60’s and continue to be a leader and innovator in radio and radio programming.

Two of our favorite shows are “A Night on the Town” with George Harter featuring Broadway show tunes  and “Right Between the Ears“, a sketch comedy show featuring several outstanding local performers including Rick Tamblyn, Teri Wilder,  and Roberta Solomon plus a host of other great comedic talents.  Both are highly recommended programs.
