The Eudora Area Historical Society will meet at city hall on Thursday, March 17, at 7:30 P.M.

The speaker for the evening will be David Katzman, professor of American Studies at Kansas University, who will talk about the history of the Jewish cemetery southwest of town, as well as early Jewish families in Eudora, who were part of the original group of settlers.  This is an area of Eudora history about which almost nothing is known, as the Jewish families eventually moved to Lawrence, and the cemetery remained unused for many years.  Mr. Katzman has titled his talk “An Ephemeral Jewish Community: Eudora, Kansas 1857 – 1865.”

The public is invited to attend.
