Friday night brought the 2010 Homecoming festivities to a close. The Eudora High football team easily defeated the Anderson County Bulldogs 55-6. Three Eudora players, Boomer Mays, Christian Richardson and Chris Pyle, had over 100 yards rushing as the Cardinals ran to victory.
Other highlights of the evening included the dedication of Eudora District Stadium. Don Grosdidier, Superintendent of Eudora Public Schools, commended the Board of Education for it’s original vision to build a new stadium and follow through on that vision to the end.
Also honored at the game were the memories of the men who the previous two sports facilities were named after, D.E. Kerr and Don Laws. A plaque was unveiled that will be placed next to the flagpole near the entrance to the stadium that honors both of these Eudora legends.
Several members of the Laws family were on hand for the ceremony. Julie Stewart, daughter of Don Laws, expressed great pride in the salute to both Kerr and Law. “This plaque is really beautiful.”
