Police in Hayti, Missouri have apprehended a 46 year old male who was wanted by the Eudora Police Department on charges of child molestation against a child under the age of 12 in Eudora.
According to Eudora Police Chief Grady Walker, an investigation into the suspect was launched Monday March 14th, after Eudora Police had received a report by the family of the alleged crimes.
Shortly after the investigation began, the suspect fled the area. Acting on a tip Eudora police received, officers investigating the incident alerted Hayti, Missouri police that the suspect could be in their jurisdiction. The Hayti Police Department began a search for the suspect and apprehended him this past Friday.
Walker stated that the suspect was a friend of the family and the alleged assaults occurred within the last three months.
The suspect was charged Tuesday in Douglas County court. The charges include two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Walker said that that their “may be other possible victims” connected to the suspect.
