Young and old alike came out to Eudora High School on Sunday for the annual Holiday Extravaganza sponsored by the Eudora Chamber of Commerce.
Santa was on hand to visit with the children so they could whisper their list of fun toys and gifts they want him to bring on Christmas.
Students from the Eudora High School Choir sangs Christmas carols to entertain those at the gathering and several trees donated by local businesses and groups were available in an auction.
While the tree donated from Knology (with two KU basketball tickets attached) was a very impressive entry, the very unofficial winner, in our humble opinion, was the City of Eudora’s tree with red police/fire flashing light at top. Whomever won the auction on this tree has a definite conversation piece, though I would imagine the Police Department might have something to say if they try to use that tree topper on their car instead.
Outside, horse drawn sleigh rides were available for those willing to brave the chilly temperatures. All proceeds from the tree auction and the rides benefited CLO’s Midnight Farm located just south of Eudora. Midnight Farm specializes in helping those with disabilities to experience what a farm is like and offer many activities designed to educate and help those with intellectual disabilities.
