Heavy winds and rain moved through Eudora on Thursday afternoon causing tree damage and power outages in a few locations.
According to Public Works Director Mike Hutto, the city had five power outages in the city following the storm. Three of those outages were due to tree limbs falling across power lines. In the 800 block of Locust street, a downed tree blocked traffic for approximately three hours as city crews worked to clean up the debris. Power was restored to all the affected customers in less than two hours following the storm.
Lightning continues on through the evening and a second round of storms moved through the area around 10:00 P.M. We received reports of brief power outages in the city during the second round of storms, but no significant damage reported.
