Eudora News and Information
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory effective until Noon Friday for the following counties: Douglas, Jefferson, Shawnee, Lyon, Osage, Franklin and Coffey.
Overnight, rain, sleet and a small amount of snow moved into the area.
According to Eudora Police Chief Grady Walker, streets are in fairly good shape. “Most of our our officers are reporting that as long as you drive carefully and not to quickly, drivers should be fine.” Walker also said “Slick spots are reported around town, but nothing extremely hazardous.”
Any and all forms of precipitation are expected to end by Noon today. Temperatures are currently hovering near the freezing mark and are expected to rise a little during the day. If this predicted trend continues, it should melt any of the remaining slick spots.
Later on tonight, colder temperatures are expected to set in and wind chills in the Single digits are expected for New Year’s Day.
