The Eudora City Commission meeting Monday night will cover a variety of topics. Many of these are yearly tasks that need to be completed or administrative type functions.

BUSINESS ITEMS:

– Update from Debbie Carden with Midwest Cultural Foundation on progress of festival to be held September 13, 2014
– Consider rezoning property located on W. 20th Street
– Consider Ordinance 1019 rezoning property on W. 20th Street
– Consider easements and right of way for Final Plat for W. 20th Street
– Consider Ordinance 1020 amending the Zoning Regulations
– Consider Ordinance 1021 Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities
– Consider Ordinance 1022 Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas Cities
– Consider 2013 year end report

WORK SESSIONS:
– Welcome Sign Presentation
– Fee Schedule

We will update you on any important information that comes out of the meeting. The meeting is open to the public and starts at 7:00 PM. The meetings are held in the City Commission chambers at City Hall 4 east 7th Street in downtown Eudora.

Looks like it will be a busy night at City Hall for the City Commission meeting.

The following business items are on the agenda:

– Consider Proclamation to recognize E.R. “Bob” Slapar as a citizen of distinction
– Recognize Michael Press for outstanding service as Interim City Manager
– Consider Resolution 2014-03 adopting Douglas County Local Emergency Operations Plan
– Consider appointments to the Board of Zoning Appeals
– Consider purchase of a 2013 Ford Taurus for the Police Department
– Consider downtown grant application for 704 Main Street

In addition to the business items, there will be: a citizen hearing for grass/weed nuisance letter, an Executive Session (this part is closed to the public) and two work sessions.

The City Commission meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at City Hall 4 East 7th Street in downtown Eudora. Meetings begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  The public is invited to attend.

Here’s what is on the City Commission’s agenda for Monday, May 13:

– Consider Proclamation declaring May to be Bicycle Month and May 13-17 Bike to Work Week

– Discuss alternative meeting date for the last meeting in May

– Consider Resolution 2013-05 authorizing improvements to the sewerage system and providing for payment of costs

– Consider Resolution 2013-06 authorizing the offering for sale of GO refunding bonds, Series 2013-B

– Mobile Phone Application Project

– Consider cell phone policy

– Consider bids for Public Safety Building IP cabling

– Consider bids for Public Safety Building Security system

The Eudora City Commission meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.  The meetings begin at 7:00 and are held in the Commission chambers at Eudora City Hall, 4 East 7th Street.  The public is invited to attend.

The Eudora City Commission will meet once again and has an obviously important agenda with the swearing in of it’s newest member Jolene Born and incumbent Tim Reazin.

Here is the agenda in full for Monday night:

– Study session after business meeting regarding automatic meter reading

Obviously, we will be providing pictures of the oath of office and will report on whom is elected Mayor and Vice Mayor.  We will also bring you anything important from the business meeting section.

The meeting at City Hall will get under way at 7:00 PM sharp.  City Hall is located at 4 East 7th Street in downtown Eudora. The public is always welcome to attend.

Well, the big question right now is if we will have a City Commission meeting or not depending on the weather.  As of publication time (10:00 AM) the meeting is still on for tonight.

Tonight’s agenda is a rather robust one as well:

– Recognize Dave Burger for service as Interim Police Chief

– Recognize Pete Feyerabend for service as Interim Fire Chief

– Receive copy of Original City Deed from Eudora Area Historical Society

– Discuss revised joint approach with USD 491 and the Eudora Police Department for the School Resource Officer program

– Consider approving the 2013 road maintenance program

The Following two items will allow a refunding of the bonds issued for upgrades to the sewer system:

– Consider approving Charter Ordinance 15

– Consider approving Resolution 2013-04

– Consider approving Interim City Manager Contract

– Executive Session – Attorney Client Privilege

– Consider approval of revisions to 2013 budget

City Commission meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at Eudora City Hall, 4 E. 7th Street.  The meeting begins at 7:00 PM and the public is encouraged to attend.
