The search for a Superintendent of the Eudora School District continued onward Tuesday.  Candidate Mark Whitener visited the school and the community and will have a one on one sit down with Board members later on tonight.

Whitener has served as superintendent of schools and high school principal in Oxford, a small town in south central Kansas, since 2011.  He previously worked in the Arkansas City School District from 1989 to 2011 in a variety of positions, including middle school principal, elementary school principal, teacher, lead teacher and academic coach. From 1985 to 1989 he  also worked as a classroom teacher at a private school in Arkansas City.  Whitener holds a bachelor’s degree from Baptist Christian College and a master’s degree in educational administration/supervision from Wichita State University. He also is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from WSU.

Whitener will meet with staff and visit the schools during the day on Tuesday. He will meet with the public during a brief reception from 4:00 PM to 4:30 at the Eudora High School Library.
