Each year, the Lawrence Memorial Endowment Association hosts a 5K run/walk in Eudora.  This year, the 5K will take place on Saturday, August 11. This is the second of a series of three 5K events in support of the Endowment Association.  The first event was held in Tonganoxie in June and the third event will be in Baldwin City on Saturday August 25.

The run will start at the Eudora Parks and Rec Center, 1638 Elm Street.  Registration for the run begins at 7:00 AM with the race beginning at 8:00 AM.

One half of the net proceeds raised in Eudora will be donated back to the community in the form of a health wellnes grant.  Last year, the Eudora Recreation Commission received the grant to provide healthy snacks before and after school.

The cost to enter the race is $25 or you can register for the Eudora and Baldwin City 5K for $45. Awards will be presented for the top male and female finishers. Some of the interesting alternative categories that will receive awards and recognition are the team with the first three finishers, the team with the most members and the team sporting “creative” race apparel.

The LMH Endowment Association assists the hospital and the surrounding communities with medical education, research and hospital programs.
