The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory starting at 9:00 PM this evening for several counties in Northeast Kansas including Douglas, Shawnee, Leavenworth and Johnson Counties. The Advisory will be in effect until 9:00 AM Wednesday morning.
The Weather Service expects light snow to begin to develop late this evening with heavier snows falling during the overnight hours. Forecasters are predicting between 1 and 3 inches of a combination of ice and snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph with the storm. Snow is expected to taper off Wednesday morning. More intense snow bands could cause heavier amounts in some locations.
Roadways are expected to become slick and cause hazardous driving conditions in the early morning hours. The high winds will cause visibility to be limited as well.
63 in the morning and measurable snow at night….yep…I must be in Kansas…..
