On behalf of the entire staff of Eudorareporter.com we wish a very blessed, safe and Happy Holidays.
Personally, I want to thank all those that have helped contribute to this site. That includes the fine staff members, photographers and my family that have all sacrificed in one way or another, to bring you the news and information through 2013.
The other day I had the opportunity to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas. During that show, Charlie Brown asks what is the true meaning of Christmas. Linus replies that he can explain the true meaning.
“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, ‘Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'”
I commend Charles Schulz (no, he’s not a direct relation in case you were wondering) for having the courage to say that in a television show in 1965 and the various networks that have replayed that message year after year.
Enjoy your presents and your time with family this holiday season. I know I will. While we all enjoy the jolly old fat man coming down the chimney to deliver goodies to all the good little boys and girls, let us not forget what the season is all about.
May God bless all of us in the coming year. Merry Christmas!
