Ottawa radio station KOFO, 1220 AM, will broadcast Saturday afternoon’s 4A State Championship game between Eudora and Rose Hill starting with pre-game coverage at 12:40 p.m. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Salina Central High School Stadium. In addition to the over-the-air broadcast, the game will also be available on the station’s website,
The Eudora Cardinals enter the title game with a 12-1 record following a 13-10 win over Paola in the semi-final contest. The Cardinals also defeated DeSoto, Basehor-Lindwood, and Chanute in the 4A playoffs. The Rose Hill Rockets are also 12-1 after dispatching Topeka-Hayden in their semi-final game, 40-29. In the 4A playoffs, the Rockets recorded wins over Holton, Andale, and Ulysses.
Scott Miller will call the play-by-play on Satuday’s championship game, the second title game he has called for KOFO. The first was the 2009 5A championship game between Gardner-Edgerton and Hutchinson. Miller has called numerous sporting events for KOFO since 2008 and is a past play-by-play annoucer for Weber State University in Utah and Norwich University in Vermont. Miller also provided occasional play-by-play and public address announcing duties at Ottawa University from 2007 to 2011.
