Details have been announced for Homecoming Week, Sept. 26-30.

Wednesday will feature the annual parade, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. at 7th and Main. The parade route will end at Laws Field, near 15th and Elm, for a pep rally. Special this year, the Eudora Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a free community concert following the pep rally. The concert, featuring Classic Revolution, a classic rock cover band, also will take place at Laws Field.

The Homecoming varsity football game against Paola will begin at 7 p.m. at Eudora District Stadium. Halftime of the game will include the coronation of Homecoming king and queen. Candidates for Homecoming queen are Katelyn Abel, Madeline Dickerson, Auston Katzfey and Beverly Virtue. King candidates are Lucas Becker, Ryan Leary, Chris Pyle and Derek Webb.

Little royalty will be Maddox Votaw, son of Eric and Ashli Votaw, and Sawyer Schreiner, daughter of George and Gretchen Schreiner.

  • Whats the point of even having the parade downtown anymore? There is no school there anymore. Might as well close down church street and have the parade out there. What about the bon fire? Do they still do that somewhere?

  • there are no sidewalks on church street – where would people sit to watch the parade or park. There may not be a school downtown anymore, but there are businesses which support the school and the parade is for the town, which includes downtown. I would also assume the parade stops at law field to keep it away from K-10 and that traffic. We need to start supporting out downtown and not take things away from it.

  • hi 5 kim!!!!! downtown is the perfect place to have it. Sorry that the people south of k10 find it hard to visit the north sided of town.
