Hearts Helping Others

Hearts Helping Others is a way for our community to help give back to others from our community. Each month, Hearts Helping Others will identify a recipient who needs a helping hand and not necessarily be able to be served by more traditional charities.  Just a few examples of this would be a fire victim, someone who has incurred a large amount of medical bills and is having some trouble paying those bills or someone who has lost their job due to the poor economy (or multiple family job losses).  Many other examples exist and these are only samples. We need you to tell us about other great stories.

How does Hearts Helping Others work?

People can nominate citizens from the local community who are in need of a hand up. They can either fill out a nomination form at http://www.eudorareporter.com/hho-nomination-form/ or can email heartshelpingothers@eudorareporter.com with an explanation of who and why a person or family is deserving of this help along with contact information of the nominee and nominator.

Each month a committee of citizens will go through those nomination forms and determine a great individual or family who is in need.

What does a recipient receive?

An anonymous donor is giving a $100 gift card to Black Cat Café in Eudora and Heads or Nails Family Salon has offered to give a free hair cut to the recipients.

How can I help out?

There are two ways to help out:

1) Do you know someone who needs help? Become one of the Hearts of this program and nominate them.

2) If you have a business or service that could be used to help give back to the community and are willing to donate just a little bit of either material, goods or services or your time, contact us at: heartshelpingothers@eudorareporter.com.  A representative will get in contact with you so that you too can help up our fellow citizens.
