The final candidate for the Eudora School District Superintendent position was revealed by District officials on Thursday.  Steve Splichal has served as superintendent of schools in McClouth in northeast Kansas, since 2011. He previously worked in the Hiawatha, Kan., School District from 2000 to 2011 in the roles of assistant superintendent and middle school principal. His career also has included time teaching middle school social studies and coaching in Atchinson and Beloit.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in education administration from Benedictine College.

Splichal is the third and final candidate to be revealed.  Splichal will meet with District staff during the day today and a public reception will be held from 4:00 PM to 4:30 in the EHS library so patrons of the district can have an opportunity to meet the candidate.  The Eudora School Board will interview Splichal later on this evening in a private session.

According to School Board President Eric Votaw, the decision on the winning applicant will likely be announced sometime in February.

  • It’s McLouth and Atchison. Could you please post the sizes of some of these candidates’ districts? So far, it looks like none have experience with a district the size of Eudora.
