A 47-year-old Eudora man pleaded no contest to a charge of molesting a 9-year-old boy at his home in March.

Stacy R. Scott entered the plea to aggravated criminal sodomy and was convicted Tuesday.

District Attorney Charles Branson alleged that the crime occurred March 11 when the boy stayed the night at Scott’s Eudora residence. The boy and his mother made the report to Eudora police on March 14, and Eudora officers arrested Scott later.

District Judge Peggy Kittel said Scott faces a maximum penalty of 54 years in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 14. Defense attorney Jim Rumsey said in court that the defense would ask for the judge to recommend that Scott receive treatment in the state’s sexual predator program in prison.

  • Disgusting! My question would be why was the boy spending the night with this person? I just watched him on channel 6 news video and he looks like a psycho. I know it is late in the game, but sounds like the mom should maybe be held accountable? Not sure on whole story, like was he spending the night with this man’s son? I havent a clue, sounds like this could have been prevented. You can never be too safe when its your children. I seen he was arrested in Missouri? Was he on the run? 54 years is a start. We have a lot of these sicko’s in our fair town, listed and unlisted. Moms and Dads watch your children, get to know who they are hanging with, especially spending the night with? If it seems odd. Or like my Mother says, if it walks like a duck? Come on this guy has some mental history, I betcha!

What about the 9-year-old boy? Does he get state mental health treatment?
