The Eudora municipal swimming pool has closed for the season, one weekend earlier than planned.

In the past week, the chlorine injector malfunctioned causing the chlorine residual to drop below standard levels for safe swimming. While the pool operators could possibly shock the system into a safe range for swimming this weekend, a thin layer of algae would have remained on the bottom of the deep end of the pool.

“This season has been a great one for the Eudora Pool,” Jimmy Kegin, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation stated. “I want to thank everyone who came out and helped make this season truly a success. We look forward to seeing you in 2012.”
