The Eudora Chamber of Commerce and Eudorareporter.com are proud to co-sponsor a forum for the candidates for both Eudora City Council and The Eudora School District Board of Education.

Meet the Candidates” will be March 23 starting at 6:30PM in the Eudora City Council Chamber at City Hall. The School Board Candidates will be interviewed first from 6:30Pm to 7:40PM, with the City Council candidates following that from 7:50PM to 9:00 PM. Both sessions will be open to the public and seating will be on a first come first serve basis.

All six candidates from the School Board and the six City Council candidates have been invited to participate.  Questions will be asked of all the candidates and there will be a time period set aside for audience questions also.

Refreshments will be served, so not only do you have an opportunity to meet and hear from all the candidates for these elected bodies, you have the opportunity to feed your tummy also.

If you have questions that you want to ask either the School Board or City Council candidates, and don’t want to stand up and ask publicly, you can always email them to: editor@eudorareporter.com.

The Eudora Chamber of Commerce and Eudorareporter.com are proud to provide this opportunity to the public and give them the opportunity to size up all the candidates as they prepare to vote in the upcoming city elections. Election Day is Tuesday, April 5.

  • Any chance of moving the event to a night when all the Churches don’t have events planned (Wednesday is usually seen as “Church Night)? Ithink you will love people (myself included).

  • Has a definite decision been reached as to the fate of the Nottingham track field? I hope those involved in the decision making in this regard will ask for public input from the Eudora Community. Because of its’ proximity to the other recreational facilities, i.e. the swimming pool and Municipal
building, it seems an ideal addition in this endeavor. Many of us have and do enjoy health benefits from its’ use.

    • As of right now, nothing will be happening to the Nottingham/Laws field property. The school district plans on holding onto the property for the time being.

Also of note, the track at the new Eudora District Stadium is available to the public. We direct to you the announcement made by the School District in regards to use of the new stadium: http://www.eudoraschools.org

  • Hi! I am new to this posting system so I apologize for not responding sooner to the post by Sydney in late February. As the Chamber president, I am afraid I had a role in selecting the night for this forum and regret that we scheduled it for church night. I was working around my teaching schedule at Washburn and flat out failed to see the problemd. By the time we realized the error, the planning was long underway and we had concerns about several candidates’ ability to change dates. However, in response to this issue, we are recording this evening’s event. Please contact me if you would like to see the DVD. Again, accept my apology and know that we will work hard not to create this conflict in future. Susie Pryor c/o Medicalodges 542-2176.
