The National Weather service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for areas of Northeast Kansas including Douglas County, effective Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night.

Snow should begin to fall Late Wednesday morning or early Wednesday afternoon with peak snowfall occurring between 3PM and 10PM. 5 to 7 inches of snow is expected and during the evening Wednesday snowfall rates may be near one inch per hour.

Other counties included in the watch are: Washington, Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Pottawatmoie, Jackson, Jefferson, and Shawnee.
