Eudora News and

We have a couple notes of news from the Eudora School District that we wanted to pass along.  The information for these notes is courtesy the Eudora School District newsletter and website. For more information on these events and more School District news, you can visit the schools website at:

Eudora High School is offering driver education courses, June 6-July 15. Enrollment in the EHS office will begin March 21 through March 31 for students entering the tenth, eleventh or twelfth grades in fall 2011. Enrollment for all other students just entering high school as ninth graders will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, in the EHS library. All driver education students this summer must be at least 14 years old by June 6, 2011.

Eudora High School supporters can now help protect the environment and shed unwanted consumer electronics — all while helping the EHS band raise money toward a student trip next year. The recycling program accepts a wide variety of items and will pay the band cash based on the number of items contributed. All proceeds will benefit a trip to perform at Disney World in Orlando in 2012.

“There’s nothing to buy, just an opportunity to help band students take the special trip next year,” said director of bands Mac Knight.

The band is seeking these items for the recycling fundraiser:

  • cell phones
  • digital cameras
  • laptop computers
  • inkjet cartridges
  • graphic calculators
  • unwanted, broken or mismatched gold, silver and platinum

Items may be donated with or without batteries or power chargers and will be accepted regardless of cosmetic or other damage. Donated item(s) may be tax deductible, as allowed by law, and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations.  Items for donation should be dropped off at the EHS main office at 2203 Church St.
