The Eudora Area Historical Society will have its May meeting tomorrow, Thursday, May 16 at 7:30pm at Eudora City Hall.
The program for this meeting will be the final in a trilogy of Civil War related lectures this year. The first two meetings this year featured Rhonda Hassig, who discussed Quantrill’s Raid and the role of Eudora during Quantrill’s Raid. The meeting this month will feature Ben Terwilliger who will present about Eudora during Bleeding Kansas and the Civil War. The Civil War and Bleeding Kansas impacted Eudora much differently than other communities in Douglas County, like Lawrence and Lecompton. This presentation will describe what Eudora was like during our nation’s most violent and consequential War.
This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
