Hundreds gathered in downtown Eudora on a hot and steamy Saturday evening to celebrate the 103rd CPA picnic.

The highlight of the festivities was the Grand Parade. People lined the parade route from Laws Field to 7th and Main Streets to see this years floats.  Many enjoyed the class reunion floats, along with the various kids groups, businesses, tractors and official city vehicles.   While there is not an award for the best presentation, many people commented on how energetic and fun the 4-H club’s float was.

The carnival rides and games were busy well into the evening and people enjoyed a good time in downtown Eudora.

Jerry Trober, CPA picnic organizer was pleased with the turnout this year.

“We had a really great crowd on Saturday night,” Trober said. “We appreciate all those who supported the activities that allow us to help out many local groups.”

According to Trober, nearly $2000 was raised that will be distributed to several organizations in Eudora including the Food Pantry at St. Paul United Church of Christ, the 4-H club, the Mayor’s Christmas tree, All Night Prom, The Eudora High School Endowment and and a scholarship fund for college bound high school kids.
