The City of Eudora is trying to encourage some family participation events this summer.

Laws Field will be the center of attention this Friday night when the City kicks off their Family Fun Night summer series.  From 7:30 to approximately 9:15 Games 2 U will provide entertainment for all to enjoy.  Then, at 9:30, it’s lights camera, action as they show the movie The Adventures of Tin Tin.  This 2011 movie, directed by Steven Spielberg,  follows the curious young reporter Tintin and his loyal dog Snowy as they discover a model ship carrying an explosive secret.

Community businesses and organizations will also have booths set up so you can learn more about those businesses and see what they have to offer.

The next Family Fun Night will be July 20th which will feature the movie The Muppets.

Also, the Parks and Rec Department is featuring afternoon entertainment for all those who want to get out and enjoy some of Eudora’s fine summer weather.  Every Wednesday from Noon to 1:00 PM at Lucy Kaegi Park (next to the Rec Center),  park goers can bring their lunch and enjoy entertainment from a variety of local musicians and dancers.

Amanda’s Dance Academy performed to a delighted audience this past Wednesday and coming up on June 20th, Kansas Music Hall of Fame member Jimmy Wilson will bring out his saxophone and entertain the lunch time audience.

The Picnic in the Park series will run through July 18th.  Make sure to bring your lunch and a chair or blanket.

One Response to City plans on entertaining your family this summer

  • I see you like my idea I had on your page last summer. I got this from going camping in platte city mo. Our campground offers many family oriented items to have a quality time. I am so happy to see the fun is being geared more towards families… We need to bring this back… Families are busy and need to have some quality times, and the memories from events such as these are priceless. I believe in our community, and bringing back family values and ways to get together and have enjoyable times, and save money too. This is a committment I have made to our community. Build a better community is my motto…. We can all do this together.
