Eudora News and Information

Normally City Council meetings are relatively short and to the point. Monday’s meeting will likely be the exact opposite of that.  Normally we just print the agenda but today, with so much on it, we are adding a couple of notes

On the agenda for Monday night:

PUBLIC HEARING:  Addition of fluoride to the city water supply

– Consider resolution 2012-10 ordering the removal and abatement of nuisances at 40 Stevens Road

– Consider approving resolution 2012-11 authorizing the construction of a new public safety building

– Consider approving resolution 2012-12 offering the sale of General Obligation Bonds to pay for the cost of a new public safety building

– Consider approving a contract with Hernly Associates for design services for the proposed public safety building

– Consider approving a contract with Strickland Construction Company for construction management services for the proposed public safety building

– Consider approving a lease with USD 491 for space located at West Elementary

– Consider adopting ordinance 992 regarding adaptive reuse amendments to the City of Eudora’s Zoning Regulations

– Discuss letter to be sent to USD 491 regarding the School Resource Officer Position

– Discuss proposed Charter Ordinance regarding change in form of government

– Discuss the proposed 2013 budget

Obviously, there is much on the agenda and there will be plenty to write about all week long.  We will call your attention to some of the very important things to be discussed:  Fluoride, Public Safety Building, School District SRO, form of government and zoning amendment changes.  If you have ever considered attending a City Council meeting, this is the one you want to go to.  We will be reporting on many of the above issues in the days to come. Make sure to check back each day to keep up to date on all these issues facing our city government.
