Everybody is Kung Fu fighting

If you have ever wanted to learn one of the true martial arts, you will soon have your chance.

The Eudora Parks and Recreation Department will soon be offering classes in Kung Fu for both adults and children.

Instructor Bryan Peterson started learning Chinese martial arts 25 years ago. Peterson lived in Japan and China for 16 years, practicing the martial arts every day.

Peterson, who not only learned the martial arts, but the languages and cultures of both countries, will be teaching the Northern  (Chang Quan) and Southern (Nan Quan) style Kung Fu.

The cost of the program is $6 per class or you can sign up for the entire session and receive a discount on the total package.  Classes will begin on Monday April 30 at the Eudora Community Center, 1630 Elm Street.  Classes for children will be on Monday and Tuesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM with the teens and adult classes running from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM also on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Spring Blood Drive sponsored by EHS Student Council

The Eudora High School Student Council will be sponsoring their spring Blood Drive on Monday April 23, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the EHS Commons.

You can make an appointment online at www.savealifenow.org.  Use the sponsor code: eudorahs.  You can also call Paul Walrod or Theresa Abel at the High School to schedule a time.  The High School phone number is 785-542-4986.  Appoints start at 2:00PM and are scheduled at 15 minute intervals.  Adults are encouraged to sign up after 4:00 PM so the earlier times can be used by the High School students.

Donors are also asked to consider  double cell donation if you can. For blood types O- and O+, this is the preferred method.  The Double cell donations take a little longer, but they count as two donations at once and can be used as soon as 24 hours later.

Every person who registers as a donor will receive a free t-shirt.

Eudora High School is located at 2203 Church Street, just south of K-10.
