The March of Dimes annual Bikers for Babies ride will not be through Eudora this year.  The ride begins at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, KS at 11:00 AM Sunday.

This years route will take riders down I-435 in KCK but instead of taking K-10, riders will exit at K-32 and take K-32 to it’s terminus with Highway 24. They will then go north on Highway 59 from 24 and then take K-16 east through McLouth and into Tonganoxie before taking 24 back towards the Speedway.

According to reports and previous history, the Bikers for Babies ride tries to avoid construction areas along the route for rider safety. Currently, K-10 has lane restrictions at Cedar Creek Parkway. Construction at the K-10 and Ridgeview interchange along with work on the Johnson County Gateway redevelopment project of the 435/35/K-10 interchange, the ride decided to take the alternate route which bypassed Eudora.

Bikers for Babies skipped Eudora previously in 2010. With the Johnson County Gateway construction to last into 2017, it may be some time before the ride returns to Eudora.
