Eudora Auto and Tire has moved into the old filling station located 505 W. 10th Street, between and Pine and Spruce Streets. Owners Eric Long and Jennifer Jones opened up the store approximately three weeks ago.
“We live here and wanted to provide and affordable service for the community,” Jones said. Long grew up in Eudora prior to his family moving to Leavenworth County and then he returned to town 13 years ago.
Eudora Auto and Tire offers a variety of service needs including oil changes, A/C, brakes, transmission and engine repair and is an expert in diagnostics.
“I can handle anything up to 2012 models,” Long told us. “that includes foreign and domestic models.”
Long, who is the primary mechanic for the business, spent eight years working for a car dealership in Lawrence prior to moving out on his own. He is obviously proud of starting his own business now.
“I’ve always wanted to have my own shop,” Long said with a smile on his face. “”I’ve been turning wrenches since I was 15 and I’ve always look for a good place to open up a shop.”
Jones, who is engaged to Long, talked about how many times, as they were driving around, he would always keep an eye out for a place to set up shop.
“He was always on the lookout for a place and then this place opened up,” Jones told us referring to the location on 10th Street. “It all just fell into place.”
Eudora Tire and Auto is open Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. They can be reached by phone at 785-690-7022.
