John is the founder of Eudorareporter.com and our Managing Editor.
John has a long background in news. John attended Rockhurst College (now Rockhurst University) in Kansas City and majored in Mass Communications. While at Rockhurst, he started working in the radio industry at the campus radio station. From college, he was hired by KCMO-AM. He rose through the ranks to Assistant Program Director for the news/talk station.
He went on to spend over ten years in the Kansas City Radio market working for several news organizations including KCMO-AM, KNHN-AM, KBEA-AM, and was a traffic reporter for the Airbourne Traffic Network.
He put aside his broadcast career in 1997 to take on the challenge of becoming a computer programmer for the Topeka School District.
John always has had a passion for broadcasting and media. In 2007, he returned to his roots as a broadcaster and eventual owner of Bounce Radio, an internet radio station.
In 2007, John and his wife Madalyn made the move from Lawrence to Eudora. John and his family looked forward to living in a smaller community from the beginning and very quickly, he developed a passion about Eudora. After the local paper shut down, he always lamented about the lack of news coverage in the city.
In 2010, he finally decided to act on a dream to help inform the citizens and public of news and events.
“I started this site with the sole purpose of educating the citizens and friends of Eudora as to what is going on in Eudora.”
John attends Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora where he is a member of the Knights of Columbus. John has a daughter and two step-children.
