Kaw Valley Companies is looking to obtain a permit to start a sand excavating operation on the former Bigger property, also known as the old Eudora Golf Course, north of North 1500 Road near the Kaw River. This proposed sand quarry is located close to the city’s well system that services Eudora’s drinking water.
A public meeting conducted by company representatives will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:00 PM at Eudora City Hall for neighbors and any interested person, to discuss this application for a permit. Questions can be asked of the representatives and officials will discuss what this operation will mean to those that live close by.
Eudora City Administrator John Harrenstein has stated in more than one City Council meeting that the city intends to keep a close eye on this project since it is close to the well system.
